I bought the 6000 silver model when it first arrived on the market and it is easily the best reel I have used in the surf. Granted, I have not used a Van Steal before and I'm sure that someone will dispute this claim, but for the price it cannot be beat. Extremely durable and functional in all conditions. Easy to rinse and lubricate as needed.

After half a season it produced a squeaking sound. I didn’t even submerge it, and i rinsed it every after use. I bought a saltx 4000, it was good at first, smooth.
